Job Brief
The Fracturing Derrick Operator plays a crucial role in oil and gas operations by rigging derrick equipment and operating pumps to circulate mud or fluid through drill holes. Responsibilities
- Rig and dismantle derrick equipment in accordance with safety standards and operational guidelines.
- Operate high-pressure pumps to circulate drilling fluids and manage fluid levels in the drilling process.
- Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance during fracturing operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on derrick and pump equipment to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with drilling teams to implement best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance and operational data.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while on the job site.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior operators on equipment handling and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Derrick Operator or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic fracturing processes and derrick operation techniques.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot high-pressure pumping equipment.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Awareness, First Aid, CPR) are a plus.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork and safety.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and travel to remote job sites as required.
