Job Brief

The Wild Oyster Harvester is responsible for the sustainable collection of wild oysters and other aquatic resources. This role requires hands-on experience in marine harvesting techniques, including the use of nets, traps, and other specialized equipment. Responsibilities

  • Hunt, trap, and gather wild oysters and other aquatic species using nets and traps.
  • Operate and maintain harvesting equipment and vessels to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and aquatic habitats to maximize sustainable yield.
  • Document daily catch and maintain accurate records of harvested quantities.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding marine life harvesting.

  • Conduct regular inspections of harvesting sites to assess health and viability of oyster beds.
  • Perform physical labor, including hauling and unloading catch onto vessels.

Requirements
