Job Brief
The Forewoman plays a critical role in supervising and coordinating the activities of construction or extraction workers on-site. This position requires a strong background in construction management and excellent leadership skills to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of construction or extraction teams to ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Coordinate work schedules and tasks, ensuring efficient use of resources and manpower.
- Monitor work performance and provide guidance to team members to enhance productivity.
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate with project managers and other stakeholders to report progress and address any issues.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of project timelines, labor costs, and materials used.
- Resolve conflicts and challenges that arise during the construction process promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forewoman or in a similar supervisory role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and project plans effectively.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Proficiency in project management software and construction management tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCER) are highly desirable.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in construction management is a plus.
