Job Brief
As a Finish Carpenter, you will construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures primarily made of wood and other comparable materials. Your expertise will encompass building frameworks, including partitions, joists, and rafters, as well as installing cabinets, siding, and hardwood floors. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of carpentry techniques, and a proven track record in residential or commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Construct and install wooden structures such as stairways, door frames, and window frames.
- Build and repair frameworks including partitions, joists, and rafters to create sturdy structures.
- Install various fixtures and fittings, including cabinets, siding, and drywall, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials accurately using hand and power tools.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to execute projects efficiently and effectively.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to accurately assess project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations throughout the construction process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to best practices in construction safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Finish Carpenter or in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
- Certification in carpentry or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is preferred.
