Job Brief
As a Window Trimmer, you will be responsible for planning and creating visually appealing commercial displays in retail store windows and interiors, as well as at trade exhibitions. This role requires a strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, creativity, and hands-on experience in display design. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to work collaboratively with retail teams to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute eye-catching window displays to attract customer attention and enhance brand visibility.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align display themes with promotional campaigns.
- Utilize creative problem-solving skills to maximize the use of space and resources in displays.
- Maintain and update displays regularly to reflect seasonal changes and new product launches.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of displays through customer feedback and sales data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and company policies while installing and maintaining displays.
- Source materials and props for displays while managing budgets and timelines.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in visual merchandising and display design.
Requirements
- Proven experience in visual merchandising or window display design, preferably in a retail environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous display projects and creative abilities.
- Excellent artistic and design skills with an understanding of color theory and spatial awareness.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours when necessary for installations or events.
- A degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
