Responsibilities
- Prepare molds by cleaning and applying gel coats to ensure optimal adhesion of fiberglass layers.
- Layer fiberglass materials on molds, ensuring proper alignment and thickness according to specifications.
- Utilize various tools and techniques for cutting, shaping, and finishing fiberglass components.
- Monitor curing processes and adjust techniques as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with team members and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of materials used and project timelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in fiberglass manufacturing is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fiberglasser or in a similar role within the composites industry.
- Strong knowledge of fiberglass materials, resins, and curing processes.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in fiberglass handling and production.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as required.
