Responsibilities

- Abstract, collect, and analyze patient treatment and follow-up information to ensure accurate health records.
- Educate healthcare staff on the use of information systems and promote effective problem-solving strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of computerized healthcare systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Design, develop, test, and implement databases that maintain comprehensive patient histories, diagnoses, treatments, and health statuses.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify system improvements and optimize data utilization.
- Stay current with healthcare regulations and best practices to ensure compliance in information management.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in health information systems, database management, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance, and data privacy standards.
- Proficiency in database design, SQL, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in data collection and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train staff and collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Certifications such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) are preferred.
