Job Brief
The Fiber Machine Tender is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machines that extrude and form continuous filaments from synthetic materials, including liquid polymer, rayon, and fiberglass. This role requires a thorough understanding of fiber production processes, machine operation, and quality control standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines to extrude and form fiber from synthetic materials.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure optimal production quality and efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines to minimize downtime.
- Document production data, including output rates, quality metrics, and machine issues for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and implement best practices.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the manufacturing facility.
- Train new operators on machine setup, operation, and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in manufacturing or mechanical fields is a plus.
- Proven experience as a machine operator or tender in a manufacturing environment, preferably in fiber production.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and production metrics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in shifts and adhere to safety standards.
