Job Brief
As a Facetor, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and repairing exquisite jewelry crafted from gold, silver, and other precious metals, as well as fine gems. This role requires a keen eye for detail and precision, utilizing advanced techniques such as diamond polishing, gem cutting, and mold casting to create high-quality jewelry pieces. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the jewelry-making process and demonstrate proficiency in setting precious and semi-precious stones, ensuring each piece meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Design and create custom jewelry pieces using gold, silver, and other precious materials.
- Fabricate, adjust, and repair jewelry items with precision and attention to detail.
- Polish diamonds and cut gems to enhance their natural beauty and value.
- Perform precision casting and modeling of molds for jewelry production.
- Set precious and semi-precious stones securely in various jewelry settings.
- Conduct appraisals of gemstones and precious metals to determine quality and value.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences and requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Facetor or in a similar jewelry-making role.
- Strong knowledge of precious metals, gems, and jewelry design principles.
- Proficient in diamond polishing, gem cutting, and mold casting techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work with specialized tools and equipment used in jewelry fabrication.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Certification or training in gemology or jewelry design is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
