Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Dragline Mechanic to join our team, responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, including draglines, cranes, bulldozers, graders, and conveyors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in heavy equipment mechanics, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and experience in the construction, logging, or mining industries. A commitment to safety and efficiency in operations is essential.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in dragline and other heavy equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on mobile equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair and overhaul machinery components, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulics.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory of parts.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to improve operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on equipment.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies in heavy equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a Dragline Mechanic or similar role in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license and, if required, appropriate certifications for operating heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
