Job Brief
The Dinkey Operator is responsible for driving switching or locomotive engines in various settings, including railroad yards, industrial plants, quarries, and construction sites. This role requires expertise in operating dinkey engines, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining efficient workflow. Responsibilities
- Operate dinkey engines for transporting materials within industrial and construction sites.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on locomotives to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety regulations and protocols to promote a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with team members to facilitate efficient loading and unloading of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, including logs of movements and maintenance activities.
- Respond to any operational issues promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment handling and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in locomotive operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Dinkey Operator or similar role in transportation or construction.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in engine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications for operating locomotives.
