Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Taxicab Dispatcher to efficiently schedule and dispatch vehicles and drivers for passenger transport. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics and transportation coordination, utilizing radio, phone, and computer systems to communicate assignments. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused approach are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch taxicabs to designated pick-up and drop-off locations.
- Utilize radio, telephone, and computer systems to transmit assignments and track vehicle locations.
- Provide timely and accurate information to drivers and passengers regarding estimated arrival times and routes.
- Compile statistics and reports on work progress, vehicle usage, and driver performance.
- Manage emergency situations by reallocating resources and providing support as needed.
- Maintain communication with drivers to ensure safety and efficiency during operations.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints and inquiries professionally.
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust dispatch processes to enhance service quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics role.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety protocols.
- Strong proficiency in using dispatch software and communication tools.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics management is a plus.
