Job Brief

As a Tearoom Host/Hostess, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a pleasant dining experience for our guests. You will greet patrons, manage seating arrangements, and oversee the quality of the facilities and service. Ideal candidates will have experience in hospitality and possess excellent communication and organizational skills to enhance guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Manage seating arrangements efficiently to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the tearoom, including table settings and lounge areas.
  • Assist guests with menu inquiries and provide recommendations to enhance their experience.
  • Monitor dining room activity to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and wait staff to facilitate smooth operations and communication.
  • Handle reservations and manage waitlists effectively to minimize wait times.
  • Address and resolve any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a host/hostess or customer service role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service protocols.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality certification is a plus.
