Job Brief
The Dining Car Steward is responsible for providing exceptional service to ensure the safety and satisfaction of passengers aboard trains, ships, or buses. Responsibilities
- Ensure passenger safety by explaining the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Serve meals, snacks, and beverages to passengers in a timely and courteous manner.
- Assist with seating arrangements and accommodate passenger requests as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area throughout the journey.
- Address and resolve passenger inquiries and concerns related to travel logistics and onboard services.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure the quality and presentation of food served.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe dining environment.
- Conduct inventory checks and assist in the ordering of supplies when necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in food safety or hospitality preferred.
- Proven experience in customer service, food service, or hospitality roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse passengers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to service delivery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
