Job Brief
The Telecommunications Line Installer is responsible for installing and repairing telecommunications cables, including fiber optics, to ensure efficient network connectivity. Responsibilities
- Install and maintain telecommunications cables, including fiber optics and copper wiring.
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and project feasibility.
- Test and troubleshoot telecommunications systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement network solutions.
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards during installation and repair activities.
- Document installation processes, service interruptions, and repairs for record-keeping.
- Respond to service calls and perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in telecommunications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Line Installer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optics and copper cable installation techniques.
- Familiarity with telecommunications tools, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
