Job Brief

The Crew Chief plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search and rescue missions. This position involves performing in-flight duties, operating advanced aircraft communications and detection equipment, and maintaining aircraft systems to optimize performance and safety. Successful candidates will possess strong technical skills, relevant experience in aviation operations, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-flight duties to ensure mission success across combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search and rescue operations.
  • Operate aircraft communications and detection systems, including establishing satellite linkages and neutralizing enemy communications.
  • Conduct thorough preflight, in-flight, and postflight inspections of onboard equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of aircraft weapons and defensive systems to enhance mission effectiveness.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of in-flight refueling systems to support extended missions.
  • Execute aircraft safety protocols and emergency procedures to safeguard crew and passengers.
  • Compute and verify weight and balance data for passengers, cargo, fuel, and special equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct cargo and personnel drops as required by mission profiles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced aviation training or military experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in aircraft operations or a related aviation field.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, communications equipment, and weapons systems.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and make quick, informed decisions during missions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in operational settings.
  • Relevant certifications for aircraft operation and maintenance (e.g., FAA certifications).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to lead and train junior crew members.
