Job Brief
The Correctional Treatment Specialist plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation of law offenders, whether in custody or under probation or parole. This position requires a deep understanding of social services and rehabilitation strategies to assist in formulating comprehensive rehabilitation plans. Responsibilities
- Assess offenders’ needs and develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
- Provide counseling and support to offenders to facilitate their reintegration into society.
- Monitor compliance with rehabilitation plans and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and law enforcement personnel.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to offender progress and treatment outcomes.
- Advise on conditional release options and ensure alignment with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Conduct educational workshops and group sessions focused on life skills and personal development.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of sensitive information as per regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Experience in correctional settings or working with at-risk populations.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation methods, counseling techniques, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with offenders and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in record-keeping and using case management software.
- Certification in a relevant field (e.g., Licensed Social Worker, Certified Addiction Counselor) is preferred.
