Job Brief

Responsibilities
- Assist in surveying and mapping tasks to gather data for construction and cartographic projects.
- Utilize aerial photography, satellite data, and existing maps to create detailed topographical maps.
- Calculate and verify mapmaking information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to integrate field data into mapping projects.
- Conduct field surveys to collect data on geographical features and boundaries.
- Maintain and update map databases to reflect changes in geography or political boundaries.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to mapping activities and data collection.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to mapping and surveying.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Cartography, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in GIS software and mapping applications (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate geographical data.
- Familiarity with surveying techniques and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective reporting and documentation.
- Previous experience in cartography, surveying, or a related field is a plus.
