Job Brief
The Brazing Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending various brazing, soldering, and welding machines or robots that heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. This role requires a keen understanding of machine operation, quality control, and safety protocols. Successful candidates will possess hands-on experience in operating brazing equipment and demonstrate skills in metal fabrication, making them key contributors to maintaining production efficiency and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate brazing machines, ensuring proper alignment and temperature settings for optimal operation.
- Operate welding, soldering, and brazing machines to join metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on brazing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Document production data, including machine performance and output quality metrics.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and resolve operational challenges.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Brazing Machine Operator or relevant role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of brazing techniques, welding processes, and metal properties.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and work orders.
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications in welding or related fields are a plus.
