Job Brief
The Boiler Plant Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of stationary engines, boilers, and auxiliary mechanical equipment to ensure reliable utility services for buildings or industrial processes. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor stationary engines and boilers to ensure efficient performance and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on steam engines, generators, and ancillary equipment.
- Adjust controls and valves to regulate temperature, pressure, and flow of steam or other utilities.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of operations, maintenance, and safety checks.
- Inspect and test equipment regularly to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in boiler operation or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Boiler Plant Operator or similar role in industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of boiler systems, steam generation, and mechanical operations.
- Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to boiler operations.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Willingness to work in shifts and respond to on-call situations.
