Job Brief

The Body Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a team of mechanics, installers, and repairers in an automotive body shop environment. This leadership role requires a strong background in automotive repair and customer service, ensuring high-quality workmanship and timely service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, hands-on experience in body shop operations, and the ability to manage team dynamics effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate repair schedules and allocate tasks based on skill level and availability.
  • Advise customers on recommended services and repair options to enhance satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations within the body shop.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of parts and supplies required for daily operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional manner to maintain a positive shop reputation.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services provided, and customer interactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in automotive repair preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within an automotive body shop or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for customer interactions and team collaboration.
  • Basic proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to body shop operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
