Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Design Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed working diagrams of automotive machinery and mechanical devices, ensuring precision and accuracy in dimensions, fastening methods, and other critical engineering information. The Automotive Design Drafter will collaborate closely with engineers and designers to develop high-quality technical drawings that meet industry standards and specifications. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of CAD software, engineering principles, and automotive design processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and schematics for automotive components and systems using CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to gather specifications and design requirements for automotive projects.
- Ensure accuracy in all drawings, including dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions.
- Review and modify designs based on feedback from engineers and project stakeholders.
- Maintain organized documentation of designs, revisions, and project changes.
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices in automotive design and drafting.
- Assist in the creation of prototypes and models to validate design concepts.
- Stay updated with advancements in automotive technology and design tools.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in drafting, design technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Design Drafter or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and automotive systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to automotive design.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and simulation tools is a plus.
