Job Brief
The Wire Drawing Machine Tender is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending machines that extrude or draw thermoplastic or metal materials into various forms, including tubes, rods, hoses, wire, bars, or structural shapes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of machine operation, mechanical aptitude, and experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust wire drawing machines to ensure optimal performance and quality.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain production standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of wire drawing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications and industry standards.
- Document production data and machine performance metrics for reporting and analysis.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and efficiency.
- Train and assist new staff in machine operation and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machine operation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a machine tender or operator in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with wire drawing processes and materials, including thermoplastics and metals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
