As a Viteroretinal Disease Physician, you will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and performing surgical procedures for a variety of retinal and vitreous disorders. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the retina and vitreous body.
- Perform surgical procedures, including vitrectomy and retinal repair surgeries.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing retinal surgery.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with retinal conditions.
- Stay current with advancements in viteroretinal surgery techniques and technologies.
- Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options, including glasses and contact lenses.
- Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery.
- Board certification in ophthalmology.
- Proven experience in retinal surgical procedures and patient management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in diagnosing ocular conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and manage multiple cases.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical coding practices.
