Job Brief
The Video Equipment Technician is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of audio and video equipment for a variety of live and recorded events. This role requires hands-on experience with microphones, video cameras, soundboards, and related electronic devices. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and configure audio and video equipment including microphones, cameras, and mixing boards for events.
- Maintain and operate video monitors and servers to ensure optimal performance during events.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to audio and video equipment quickly and effectively.
- Dismantle and pack equipment post-event, ensuring all items are accounted for and stored properly.
- Collaborate with event coordinators and other technicians to understand specific audio-visual requirements for each event.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on audio and video equipment to ensure reliability.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new audio-visual technologies and equipment.
- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and techniques in audio and video technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Video Equipment Technician or similar role in the audiovisual industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of audio and video equipment including cameras, soundboards, and mixing equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- Familiarity with various audio and video software and hardware systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Certification in audio-visual technology or related field is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
