Job Brief
As a Vertical Launching System (VLS) Advanced Technician, you will play a critical role in the operational readiness and efficiency of advanced weapon systems. This position involves targeting, firing, and maintaining sophisticated VLS technologies utilized in naval combat operations. You will conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of missiles, torpedoes, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in military artillery systems and demonstrate strong technical skills in system diagnostics and repair.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Vertical Launching Systems (VLS) to ensure optimal functionality during combat operations.
- Conduct inspections and testing of missiles, torpedoes, and other ammunition to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on weapons systems and associated equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective radio and wire communication systems for operational coordination.
- Utilize weapons targeting, firing, and launch computer systems to execute combat missions accurately.
- Document and report maintenance activities and equipment status to ensure accountability and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with other military personnel to strategize and execute combat operations effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or military training preferred.
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining Vertical Launching Systems or similar weapon systems.
- Strong understanding of military artillery and air defense systems, including missiles and torpedoes.
- Familiarity with computer systems used for weapons targeting and launch operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, military environment.
- Strong communication skills to relay information effectively during operations.
