Job Brief
As a Valve Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical regulating and controlling devices, including electric meters, gas regulators, thermostats, safety and flow valves, and other mechanical governors. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid background in mechanical systems. You will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of valve systems in various industrial settings, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of processes.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure mechanical regulating devices, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of valves and related equipment to prevent and resolve malfunctions.
- Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics to identify wear, leaks, and other issues affecting valve performance.
- Repair or replace defective components, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques to restore functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize valve performance and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used for inventory management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations while performing mechanical work.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in valve technology and maintenance practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Valve Mechanic or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, valve operation, and control devices.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
- Technical certification in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.
