Job Brief
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operations Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of UAVs in various environments. This role requires expertise in UAV systems, flight operations, and maintenance procedures. Ideal candidates will possess strong technical skills, hands-on experience with UAV technologies, and a thorough understanding of aviation safety regulations. The UAV Operations Technician plays a critical role in mission planning, equipment setup, and data collection, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of UAV operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-flight checks and inspections of UAV systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Operate UAVs for a variety of applications, including surveillance, reconnaissance, and data collection.
- Monitor flight operations and maintain real-time communication with ground control.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on UAV equipment to maximize performance.
- Analyze flight data and prepare reports for operational assessment and improvement.
- Collaborate with team members to develop mission plans and coordinate UAV deployment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Train and mentor junior technicians and assist in skill development programs.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Valid UAV pilot certification or equivalent training in UAV operations.
- Proven experience with UAV systems, including hardware and software components.
- Strong knowledge of aviation safety standards and airspace regulations.
- Technical proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of flight data.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
