Job Brief
The University President serves as the chief executive officer, responsible for the strategic vision, leadership, and operational direction of the institution. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience in higher education administration and a deep understanding of academic policies. The University President will collaborate with the governing board to formulate policies, promote academic excellence, and foster community engagement while ensuring financial sustainability and institutional growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the university’s mission and vision.
- Oversee academic programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and relevance.
- Engage with faculty, staff, and students to promote a collaborative and inclusive campus culture.
- Manage the university’s financial resources, including budgeting and fundraising initiatives.
- Lead enrollment management and student success initiatives to enhance student retention and graduation rates.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the university, representing its interests to external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local, regional, and national organizations to support university initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in education administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within higher education.
- Strong understanding of academic governance, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead financial planning and resource management effectively.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making and institutional assessment.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the academic environment.
- Experience with fundraising and alumni relations is preferred.
