Job Brief
As a Tractor Mechanic, you will diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul a variety of farm machinery and vehicles, including tractors, harvesters, dairy equipment, and irrigation systems. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills, along with hands-on experience in agricultural machinery maintenance and repair. Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in tractors and farm machinery using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on agricultural vehicles and equipment.
- Overhaul engines and transmission systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect and test machinery to identify faults and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with farmers and operators to understand machinery needs and concerns.
- Keep work area organized and adhere to safety standards and regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanical repair preferred.
- Proven experience as a tractor mechanic or in a similar role within the agricultural sector.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., ASE certification) are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
