Job Brief
As a Tool Room Machinist, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments from metal. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision components.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical instruments and parts based on engineering specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining operations and sequences.
- Conduct quality checks on machined components using precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Maintain and repair machine tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve machining processes and techniques.
- Document all machining processes, modifications, and repairs for quality assurance and compliance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Tool Room Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining procedures, mechanics, and metal properties.
- Experience with CNC programming and operation, as well as manual machining techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
