Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Sheet Metal Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment, including ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in sheet metal work, strong technical skills in operating fabricating machines, and proficiency in welding and soldering techniques.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products according to specifications and project requirements.
- Install and repair HVAC ductwork, ensuring optimal airflow and system efficiency.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
- Shape metal using hammers and other tools, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Utilize soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts securely.
- Inspect, assemble, and smooth seams and joints of burred surfaces for durability.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute precise installations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure comprehensive project execution and adherence to safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC systems preferred.
- Proven experience as a sheet metal installer or in a similar role within the HVAC industry.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, duct design, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery for metalworking.
- Familiarity with welding and soldering processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; relevant certifications (e.g., EPA 608) are a plus.
