Job Brief
As a Golf Course Designer, you will be responsible for planning and designing innovative and sustainable golf courses that enhance the natural landscape while meeting client specifications. Your role will involve collaborating with clients, landscape architects, and environmental specialists to create functional and aesthetically pleasing golf facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in landscape design, strong project management skills, and a deep understanding of agronomy and environmental considerations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site analyses to assess environmental conditions and land characteristics for golf course development.
- Develop conceptual designs and detailed plans for golf courses, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project objectives and design specifications.
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create precise drawings and models.
- Incorporate sustainable practices and environmentally friendly solutions into design proposals.
- Oversee project timelines and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Coordinate with contractors and construction teams during the implementation phase.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure design integrity throughout construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in golf course design or landscape architecture, preferably with a portfolio of completed projects.
- Strong proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and GIS applications.
- Knowledge of turf management, irrigation techniques, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork and client relations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Professional certification from a recognized body, such as the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), is preferred.
