Job Brief

The Geologist will conduct comprehensive studies of the Earth’s composition, structure, and physical properties to support various projects such as mineral exploration, environmental assessments, and resource management. This role requires a strong foundation in geology, physics, and mathematics, alongside proficiency in data analysis and fieldwork. The ideal candidate will have experience in geological modeling, site investigations, and environmental impact assessments, demonstrating a keen understanding of geological processes and their application in industries such as oil, gas, and mining.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct geological surveys and site investigations to collect data on the Earth’s materials.
  • Analyze geological samples and interpret findings to assess mineral resources and environmental impacts.
  • Utilize advanced geological modeling software to create subsurface models and maps.
  • Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to develop strategies for resource extraction and waste management.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations on geological findings for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct field studies, including rock and soil sampling, to support research and exploration efforts.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in geological research methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards during geological assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in geological fieldwork and data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of geological mapping, mineralogy, and geophysical techniques.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as GIS, AutoCAD, and geological modeling applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Licensed Geologist) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork as required.
