Job Brief
As a Gas Meter Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical regulating and controlling devices, including electric meters, gas regulators, thermostats, safety valves, and flow valves. Responsibilities
- Install and connect gas meters, regulators, and other related devices safely and accurately.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on gas meters and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to gas flow and meter functionality.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations regarding gas installations.
- Document installation procedures, maintenance reports, and service records accurately.
- Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries regarding gas meter operations.
- Collaborate with other technicians and staff to improve installation processes and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in the gas metering industry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in gas installation preferred.
- Proven experience as a gas meter installer or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of gas systems, mechanical devices, and safety standards.
- Valid certification in gas installation and maintenance (e.g., NACE, ICC, or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform installation work in various weather conditions.
