Job Brief

The Farm Equipment Engineer is responsible for applying engineering technology and biological sciences to address agricultural challenges related to power and machinery, electrification, structures, soil and water conservation, and the processing of agricultural products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of agricultural systems. Candidates should possess experience in agricultural machinery design, maintenance, and optimization, along with a passion for enhancing farming operations through innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced agricultural machinery and equipment to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct research and analysis to solve engineering problems related to farm operations and equipment.
  • Implement electrification solutions for agricultural settings to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with agricultural scientists and farmers to understand their equipment needs and challenges.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Evaluate soil and water conservation methods to optimize agricultural practices.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and specifications for new equipment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in agricultural engineering technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in farm equipment design, maintenance, or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural systems, machinery, and power technologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering design tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including farmers and technical teams.
  • Experience in soil and water conservation practices is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
