Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Eyeglass Lens Cutter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, grinding, and polishing eyeglass lenses and other precision optical elements. You will also assemble and mount lenses into frames, ensuring high-quality standards and precision in every task. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical manufacturing, attention to detail, and proficiency with lens cutting machinery.
Responsibilities
- Cut, grind, and polish eyeglass lenses using precision lens polishers and grinders.
- Assemble and mount lenses into frames with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Operate centerer-edgers to ensure precise lens shaping and fitting.
- Inspect finished lenses for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain and calibrate lens cutting machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Document production processes and maintain inventory of materials used in lens cutting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Eyeglass Lens Cutter or in a similar role in the optical industry.
- Strong knowledge of lens cutting, grinding, and polishing techniques.
- Familiarity with optical machinery, including centerer-edgers and lens mounters.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation.
