Job Brief
As an Eyeglass Fitter, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional optical care by designing, measuring, fitting, and adapting lenses and frames based on clients’ written optical prescriptions. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and knowledge of optical products. You will assist clients with selecting suitable frames, provide guidance on contact lens care, and ensure optimal fitting for enhanced vision clarity.
Responsibilities
- Design and customize lenses and frames according to client specifications and optical prescriptions.
- Measure clients for the appropriate size of eyeglasses, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements.
- Assist clients in selecting stylish and suitable frames that meet their personal preferences and optical needs.
- Prepare detailed work orders for the optical laboratory, including instructions for grinding and mounting lenses.
- Verify the accuracy of finished lens spectacles and make necessary adjustments for optimal fit.
- Adjust frame and lens positions to ensure comfort and functionality for clients.
- Shape or reshape frames as needed to meet client specifications.
- Provide guidance to clients on inserting, removing, and caring for contact lenses.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in optical dispensing is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Eyeglass Fitter or in a similar role within the optical industry.
- Strong knowledge of optical products, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with clients.
- Ability to perform precise measurements and adjustments for eyewear fitting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality optical services.
- Familiarity with optical laboratory procedures and equipment is a plus.
