Job Brief

As an Epileptologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, managing, and treating complex neurological disorders, specifically epilepsy and other seizure-related conditions. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with epilepsy and related neurological disorders through comprehensive clinical assessments.
  • Interpret and analyze EEGs, neuroimaging studies, and other diagnostic tests to formulate treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based management and treatment options for patients, including medication management and lifestyle recommendations.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgeons, radiologists, and primary care physicians, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about epilepsy, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to improve quality of life.
  • Participate in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of epilepsy care through ongoing studies and trials.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in epilepsy treatment and management through continuous education and professional development.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency in neurology and fellowship training in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology.
  • Board certification in neurology and epilepsy, with active state medical licensure.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostic tools such as EEG, MRI, and CT scans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and families.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends.
  • Research experience in epilepsy or related fields is preferred but not required.
