Job Brief

As an Encephalographer, you will play a critical role in the assessment and monitoring of neurological disorders through advanced diagnostic imaging techniques. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to conduct electroencephalograms (EEGs), interpret results, and contribute to patient care strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with neurodiagnostic equipment, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct electroencephalograms (EEGs) to evaluate brain activity and identify neurological conditions.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort during testing.
  • Monitor and record brain wave activity, ensuring accurate data collection for diagnostic purposes.
  • Analyze EEG results, identifying abnormalities and anomalies in brain function.
  • Collaborate with physicians and neurologists to discuss findings and assist in patient diagnosis.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Document patient information, test results, and care processes accurately in medical records.
  • Stay updated with advancements in encephalography techniques and technologies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in neurodiagnostic technology or equivalent education.
  • Certification as a Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT) or equivalent credential.
  • Proven experience in performing EEGs and analyzing results.
  • Strong understanding of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology principles.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data entry.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
