Job Brief
The Dynamiter plays a critical role in the safe and effective execution of explosive demolition projects. Responsible for placing and detonating explosives to demolish structures or to loosen and remove earth, rock, or other materials, this position requires a high level of expertise in handling explosives. Responsibilities
- Plan and execute demolition projects involving explosives, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Place explosives in designated locations to effectively achieve desired demolition results.
- Conduct pre-blast checks and assessments to confirm safe detonation conditions.
- Monitor and control detonation sequences, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding areas.
- Perform specialized handling, storage, and accounting procedures for explosives.
- Maintain detailed records of explosive materials, including inventory management and safety documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, site managers, and other team members to develop effective demolition strategies.
- Adhere to industry best practices and local regulations related to explosives and demolition activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dynamiter or in a similar role within the demolition industry.
- Relevant certifications in explosives handling and detonation (e.g., Blaster’s License).
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to explosive materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and demolition plans.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
