Job Brief

The Dog Warden plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both animals and the community. Responsibilities

  • Investigate reports of animal neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
  • Capture and contain stray or dangerous dogs in a safe and humane manner.
  • Enforce local animal control laws and regulations.
  • Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal control activities and incidents.
  • Coordinate with local shelters and rescue organizations for the care of strays.
  • Respond to emergency situations involving animals in distress.
  • Conduct outreach programs to promote responsible pet ownership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in animal care preferred.
  • Prior experience in animal control, veterinary care, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
  • Certification in animal first aid and CPR is a plus.
