Responsibilities
- Investigate reports of animal neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
- Capture and contain stray or dangerous dogs in a safe and humane manner.
- Enforce local animal control laws and regulations.
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare issues.
- Maintain accurate records of animal control activities and incidents.
- Coordinate with local shelters and rescue organizations for the care of strays.
- Respond to emergency situations involving animals in distress.
- Conduct outreach programs to promote responsible pet ownership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in animal care preferred.
- Prior experience in animal control, veterinary care, or related field.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
- Certification in animal first aid and CPR is a plus.
