Job Brief

The Documentation Writer is responsible for creating high-quality technical documents, including equipment manuals, appendices, and operating and maintenance instructions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong writing skills and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content. Ideal candidates will have experience in technical writing, a solid understanding of documentation tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, installation manuals, and online help content.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical details.
  • Edit and revise existing documentation to enhance clarity and usability.
  • Maintain an organized documentation library that is easily accessible to both users and team members.
  • Assist in layout and formatting of documents to ensure a professional presentation.
  • Conduct usability testing of documentation to gather feedback and improve user experience.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing or a similar role.
  • Proficient in documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or Microsoft Word.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and precision.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
