Job Brief

As a Disc Recordist, you will be responsible for assembling and operating advanced recording equipment to capture, synchronize, mix, edit, and reproduce high-quality sound for various productions, including theater, film, television, podcasts, and live events. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate recording equipment for capturing sound during live and recorded productions.
  • Mix, edit, and synchronize audio tracks to create cohesive soundscapes for various media formats.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and other audio professionals to ensure the audio matches the creative vision.
  • Utilize digital audio workstations (DAWs) and sound editing software to refine audio quality.
  • Perform audio post-production tasks, including sound design and effects integration.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot recording equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Conduct sound checks and monitor audio quality during recordings to achieve the desired sound output.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in audio technology to enhance production quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Disc Recordist or in a similar audio production role.
  • Proficiency in using DAW software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
  • Strong understanding of acoustic principles and sound design techniques.
  • Familiarity with various recording equipment, microphones, and mixing consoles.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with production teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality audio content.
