Job Brief
The Coal Tower Operator is responsible for operating mechanical boom and cable systems or tower and cable equipment to efficiently lift and move materials, machinery, or products in various directions. This role requires proficiency in equipment operation, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to interpret load specifications. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in heavy machinery operation, a keen attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate mechanical boom and cable systems to transport materials safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance to ensure operational safety.
- Monitor load specifications and adjust operations as necessary to prevent overloads.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate lifting operations and optimize workflow.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Document operational activities and report any incidents or equipment malfunctions.
- Train and mentor junior operators on best practices and equipment handling techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Proven experience operating mechanical boom and cable equipment or similar machinery.
- Strong understanding of load limits and safety protocols related to lifting operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and agility to perform tasks in various outdoor environments.
- Valid operator’s license or certification may be required.
