Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Pesticide Applicator to manage and execute safe pesticide application practices for agricultural, residential, and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of pesticide types and application methods, alongside required state or federal certifications. Key responsibilities include mixing and applying various pesticides, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining accurate records of applications.
Responsibilities
- Mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides effectively and safely on trees, shrubs, lawns, and crops.
- Conduct thorough assessments of pest control needs and determine appropriate pesticide solutions.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning pesticide use and safety.
- Utilize various application methods, including sprays, dusts, vapors, and soil incorporation.
- Monitor and maintain equipment used for pesticide application to ensure optimal performance.
- Educate clients and the public on safe practices for pesticide application and pest management.
- Keep detailed records of pesticide applications and inventory management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in pest control technologies and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid state or federal certification as a Pesticide Applicator.
- Proven experience in pest management and pesticide application techniques.
- Strong knowledge of pest biology, environmental impacts, and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate and maintain pesticide application equipment.
- Excellent communication skills for educating clients and collaborating with team members.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for record-keeping and compliance.
- Physical stamina to perform fieldwork in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices is a plus.
