Job Brief
As a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist, you will play a vital role in the assessment and treatment of patients with cardiovascular conditions. You will conduct and assist with diagnostic tests, including cardiac catheterizations, electrocardiograms, and pulmonary function tests. This position requires proficiency in advanced medical technology, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and a strong understanding of cardiac care protocols. Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac catheterizations and assist in interventional procedures.
- Conduct electrocardiograms (ECGs) and analyze results for diagnostic purposes.
- Administer pulmonary function tests to evaluate respiratory health.
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient responses during procedures.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to develop patient care plans.
- Educate patients on procedures and post-care instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or related field.
- Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or similar healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Proficient in using cardiac monitoring equipment and imaging technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and high-stress environments.
