Job Brief
As a Bridge Painter Helper, you will assist skilled painters, paperhangers, plasterers, and stucco masons in various tasks that require foundational skills and support. This entry-level position involves using, supplying, and holding materials or tools, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn on the job. Prior experience in construction or painting is advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Assist painters with preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
- Supply tools and materials to painters and maintain an organized workspace.
- Hold and position items, such as scaffolding and ladders, during painting operations.
- Mix paint and other materials as directed by skilled workers.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas after job completion to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic knowledge of painting techniques and materials is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy items.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in construction.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation to job sites as needed.
