Job Brief
As a Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of bridge structures. Responsibilities
- Design and analyze bridge structures using engineering software and modeling techniques.
- Conduct site inspections to assess the structural integrity and safety of existing bridges.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge projects.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project alignment and compliance.
- Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential engineering challenges.
- Maintain thorough documentation of project progress, including reports and engineering calculations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance bridge engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in bridge design and construction management.
- Strong proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AASHTO, FHWA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in bridge engineering is a plus.
