Responsibilities
- Assist brickmasons, blockmasons, and stonemasons by providing necessary materials and tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by regularly cleaning work areas and equipment.
- Transport materials to and from job sites efficiently, ensuring timely project completion.
- Follow instructions from skilled masonry workers to support various construction tasks.
- Help in setting up scaffolding and other structures as needed for masonry projects.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to minimize workplace hazards.
- Assist in the mixing and preparation of mortar and other binding agents when required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a construction or labor-intensive role is an advantage.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Basic knowledge of masonry materials and construction tools.
- Understanding of safety procedures and regulations in construction environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Certification in construction safety training (OSHA or similar) is a plus.
